The Chinese Meridians

are a network of energy pathways that run through the body. They are similar to the zone theory traditionally known in Reflexology. Six of the twelve major meridians start or end in the toes and penetrate the digestion organs:  liver, spleen/pancreas, stomach, gall bladder, bladder and the kidneys. Our reflexology workshop will cover a brief overview of the Meridians and teach some hands-on techniques. The participant will be able to:

  1. Determine physical imbalances by observing the feet,
  2. Recognize congestion along the meridians,
  3. Apply techniques to stimulate the meridians and reflex points, and
  4. Understand what reflex points and areas to focus on based on meridian imbalances.

This meridian knowledge allows the reflexologist to determine what areas should be emphasized during the session. This class will be 35 to 40% hands-on.

“Cranio-Sacral Reflexology is an integration of Osteopathy, Cranio-Sacral Therapy and Reflexology.  This advanced level of reflexology harnesses the extraordinary potential of the creative brain to bring homeostasis and health to the body. A unique form of reflexology, Cranio-Sacral Reflexology is effective in treating trauma and stress related conditions by balancing the distribution of cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) within the brain.  The key ingredient in all sessions is balancing the three diaphragms and the autonomic nervous system by using specific protocols.” Holly Glennon

“The craniosacral system is made up of the skull, the spine, the sacrum, and the cerebrospinal fluid…Bringing the craniosacral system into reflexology is of fundamental importance because a great number of patients suffer from disorders and illnesses connected to some cranial trauma that has in turn created structural damage to the body.”
Martine Faure-Alderson, D.O.
